There are always fun family-friendly things to do in Detroit on the weekend from River Days to getting ready for the fireworks on Monday, June 25.

Friday, June 22 & Sunday, June 24: Get ready to have fun on land and water this weekend at GM River Days @ the Detroit Riverfront.

Friday, June 22: Grab a camping chair or spread your blanket on the lawn and enjoy Meet the Robinsons @ New Center Park’s Family Movie Night

Friday, June 22: Take your littles on a ride through space at Wayne State’s Summer Planetarium Show.

Saturday, June 23: Shake things up with Cuban musician DJ Dez Andrés at Boho Mini’s Cultura Cubana.

Saturday, June 23: Watch your favorite characters come to life at the Hilberry Theatre’s performance of The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Stupid Fairly Tales.

Saturday, June 23: Make memories and a mess in someone else’s kitchen. Eastern Market is hosting a Grandparent & Grandchild Summer Cooking Class.

Saturday, June 23: Stop by N’Namdi Movement Center and drop into an Art & Movement or Pre Ballet class with Lil Dumplins.

Saturday, June 23: Join the Detroit Mama Circle at Fort St. Presbyterian Church, kids can play and moms can connect with local parents.

Sunday, June 24: Head to Palmer Park and go back to a simpler time – it’s Log Cabin Day. The old-fashioned ice cream social has live music, craftworks demonstrations and more.

Sunday, June 24: Try your hand at the bow and arrow with Archery workshops @ Outdoor Adventure Center.
